You wake on a staircase with a sword across your knees and your name, Alex Morgan, sewn into your sleeve. Beneath it someone has stitched a warning: Do not sell the last memory.
A lantern burns beside a little brass shop. Below it, something scratches at the dark.
Your health carries between fights. Defeat ends this run. Kill a monster or drive it away to earn random gold; escaping yourself earns nothing. Every two victories recover another piece of your past. The descent has no final floor.
